These last few days, I have started to pick-up on the podcast trend. Not only have I realized that I’m definitely more of a listener than a reader, I have also realized that these podcasts I have been listening to have become more of a tool than a…well, podcast. Today I listened to Influencer Girl by Monica Woodhams featuring a blogger I have been following for awhile, Hayley Larue (Blondie In The City). In this podcast, Hayley shared her story of what it was like to be a blogger and the time, money and effort that goes into blogging and being on social media. However, there was one thing in particular that stood out to me; in the podcast, Hayley stated, “it’s so important for everyone to have future goals, you never want to be like alright, here I am, this is perfect.” This stood out to me the most because it made me sit back and think, what are my goals? Are they practical?
I had previously asked myself this towards the beginning of the year, but I didn’t put as much thought into it as I should have. So, with that being said, I want to share my goals with you that I have for Hey It’s Linds and I encourage you to share some of your goals for this year in the comments!
- Something I have been really trying to work on is being more creative. I really want to bring more of myself and personality into my content so you can see who I am as a person rather than just a face on Instagram. I also think bringing more creativity into my posts will make it more fun and entertaining for you to read and look at it so my main goal this year is creativity.
- Another goal I have this year is connecting more with others. I want to work with new photographers and learn from other creatives. One of the most inspiring things about blogging and being more of an influencer on social media, is being able to connect and learn from others that are just as passionate about what they do.
- To add on to the last, I also want to connect locally. I live in a small town where blogging isn’t big at all; from what I have seen on social media, there are only 5 or 6 of us blogging here so it’s definitely hard trying to connect with a community where blogging is almost unknown. With that being said, I want to start reaching out and connecting with local shops + boutiques and give my audience a little taste of our beautiful area.
- Finally, my goal is something that I always hope to have as a goal and it’s to stay true to myself. This last year, I brought myself into social media marketing and the whole blogging atmosphere and I hope that I always stay organic, honest and myself on here. I don’t want to lose myself in what I love to do and if it means turning down collaboration opportunities or sponsored posts, I’m going to do that because staying true to who I am, is worth every penny.
